Subscription-Based Web Site Usage Analysis
In a classic data warehouse remediation effort, Dataspace was engaged by one of the world’s largest publishers to analyze a poorly-performing data warehouse and business intelligence system.  The system read web logs to analyze usage of the company’s various subscription-based web properties.   Implementation of our recommendations lead to significant increases in usage by the business.  In subsequent efforts Dataspace worked with client personnel to develop models for capturing and integrating data from subscription television and print properties, providing marketing staff with a 360 degree view of customer activity.

Campaign Management Target Selection & Sales Force Analysis
The telephone directory industry has reached a classic state of maturity.  With the advent of the web telephone searches many traditional yellow pages advertisers are switching their advertising dollars to new media.  In this highly competitive environment our client, one of the nation’s largest providers of telephone directories is pursuing a two-pronged strategy. The first prong entails acquiring competitors and optimizing the combined operations.  The second prong entails pursuing a leadership position in the web search arena.

Dataspace worked with this client to build cutting edge data analysis tools supporting a variety of business functions.  One of these systems allows client marketing personnel to analyze accumulated data in order to identify companies for highly-targeted marketing campaigns.  This campaign-management tool has quickly become a key piece of the client’s business intelligence infrastructure.

In a related effort Dataspace consultants plumbed the same data sources for information about the relative performance of our client’s sales team members.  With this system managers from the field to the executive levels are able to quickly determine what is working… and what is not.  The rapid access to sales performance data provided by this system swiftly led to the system’s positioning as a highly-used, key part of the client’s sales-management infrastructure.

Post-merger Integration
As noted above, Dataspace has been significantly involved with one of the nation’s leading publishers of yellow-page directories.  Acquisition of rivals is a key part of this client’s business strategy.  Rapid integration of data from the acquired companies is integral to success with this strategy.  Dataspace consultants have worked with this customer to perform this integration.  As part of this integration Dataspace consultants are helping the client port its reporting applications from Oracle to the Teradata database platform.

Automobile Ownership Analysis
In the United States, once an automobile has been purchased and then resold the car’s manufacturer no longer knows who owns that car.  This creates a major problem as this information is critical to manufacturer marketing and recall notification efforts.  But, this information is available from the state government agencies responsible for automobile registration.  Our client, a leading provider of automotive data, has developed specialized processes for gathering this data, integrating it and distributing it to its customers - automobile manufacturers.

Dataspace worked with this client on a number of efforts.  While much of our effort was targeted at optimizing existing processes we also rewrote a key product for this client.  Building on the latest web technologies, this product was placed in the offices of our client’s customers.  Users remotely accessed our client’s centralized data store.  This application was a major success and provided our client with a significant revenue source.

Dataspace’s client is one of the world’s leading providers of marketing information, audience measurement, and business media products and services.  In a major effort this client is striving to integrate the data in it’s massive data warehouse with that of its customer, one of the world’s largest consumer-product brands.  Dataspace consultants worked with this customer to design the database structures and data movement applications necessary to support this massive effort.
